Double P1 at Dijon and P2 at Magny-Cours

For the second consecutive year, Team Virage competes in the Ultimate Cup Series. Philippe Cimadomo renewed his trust in our LMP3 program, driving the #77 and partnered with Lionel Amrouche for most of the 2020 season.

At the wheel of our LMP3 #88, the young talented single-seater driver Alessandro Ghiretti joins Julian Wagg and Miguel Cristovao, both partners at the end of last season.

Double P1 at Dijon

The season couldn’t have started better. Team Virage opened this new season at Dijon-Prenois’ circuit with a double win in the Ultimate Cup Series.

After having scored the pole position, Cristovao, Wagg and Ghiretti crossed the finish line of the 4h race in first place after having completed 174 laps, one lap ahead of the next car. The #77 driven by Cimadomo and Costa ended in P7 after an unfortunate collision with another car early in the race, while fighting for the podium.

The second victory of the day at Dijon came thanks to Adler, Gerbi and Cobian. Our Aston Martin Vantage GT4 #55 won in the UGTX category, crossing the line in 5th position in the general standings.

P2 at Magny-Cours

Neither bad weather nor rain prevented Cristovao, Wagg and Ghiretti from showing us their skills with the #88 at the Magny-Cours’ circuit the last weekend of September.  The three Team Virage drivers managed to reach a final P2 even though they had to start from the back of the grid after having received a penalty.

Team Virage’s LMP3 #77, driven by Amrouche and Cimadomo, ended in P8 after a very positive qualifying which saw them starting from P3.

After the Dijon and Magny-Cours’ races, Team Virage’s LMP3 #88 has proven to be the fastest and strongest car so far in the competition, leading the general ranking in front of TS Corse’s Duqueine.
